Dylan Marsh and the ‘Passive Income’ Dropshipping Course That Wasn’t

Dylan Marsh’s ‘Seven Figure Dropship Academy’ promised financial freedom for $1,997. Former students say the content was outdated, the ‘success stories’ were staged, and the business model was misrepresented from the start.

The Promise of Seven Figures

Dylan Marsh built his personal brand on a single claim: that he had built a seven-figure dropshipping business in 14 months starting from zero, using a system he now teaches. The claim appears in his YouTube bio, his course landing page, his Instagram captions, and the title of his program.

The Income Claims

Marsh’s promotional content includes screenshots of Shopify dashboards showing significant revenue figures. Revenue and profit are different things, a distinction Marsh’s marketing does not make.

Several former students who reached significant revenue milestones through Marsh’s methods report profit margins of 3–8% after advertising costs — meaning a $500,000 “revenue” figure Marsh might highlight represented $15,000–$40,000 in actual profit, before taxes and platform fees.

The dropshipping strategies Marsh teaches were industry-standard practice in 2019 and 2020. By the time most of his 2022–2025 students enrolled, platform costs had increased and ad targeting had been restricted following iOS privacy changes. The course content had not been significantly updated.

The ‘Success Stories’

Marsh’s website and YouTube channel feature multiple success story videos. GripeNation reached out to six individuals featured in these testimonials. One confirmed she had appeared at Marsh’s request at a live event, with prompts provided in advance. A second said he had agreed to appear in exchange for a free course upgrade.

The Refund Gate

The course advertises a 30-day refund policy. The refund policy requires the student to submit proof they completed all course modules, implemented the strategies, contacted at least 10 suppliers, and set up a live store — tasks that collectively take longer than 30 days for most students.

If you purchased Seven Figure Dropship Academy and have been denied a refund, file a chargeback dispute with your credit card provider and a complaint with the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov.
